To start, if I approached you at a picnic and asked what you were up and enjoying these days, how would you answer?
Professionally, I am part of Meta’s business team in Hong Kong, where I partner with the region’s eCommerce companies to grow globally with Meta’s advertising solutions. I enjoy the mix of strategy, technology, learning, and relationship-building that comes with the role.
In my personal time, I am passionate about travelling, discovering unfamiliar landscapes, and immersing myself in novel experiences and skills.
The Summer 2026 alumni newsletter theme is exploring cities through the eyes of Comm Leaders and where they call home. You currently live in Hong Kong, one of the most interesting crossroads in Asia. Can you share with us a bit about your current hometown: how long it’s been home for you, and what you would describe as the personality of the city.
I have called Hong Kong home for the past four years. To me, the city’s personality is defined by its vibrant energy, international flair, and remarkable efficiency. It’s a unique place where one can seamlessly transition from a day of professional meetings to an evening hike overlooking the iconic skyline.
Can you share a bit more about your work at Meta, and if possible, showcase elements or your work that are particularly informed by its Hong Kong branch location?
In my role at Meta, I collaborate with global eCommerce enterprises to catalyze their global expansion through strategic advertising solutions. Operating from the Hong Kong office is especially exciting, as the city serves as a gateway connecting Greater China with the global marketplace. My daily responsibilities involve guiding organizations through market complexities, leveraging data-driven insights to craft marketing initiatives, and utilizing data and insights to enhance campaign performance, across diverse ad-hoc projects.
Hong Kong has gone through a number of transformations over the last century and much has been written about its history. But what is something that you have to live there to understand that you can share with our readership?
What I’ve learned after living here is how local Hong Kong can feel. Each neighborhood has its own rhythm and a unique network of businesses that residents genuinely champion. People tend to trust recommendations from family, friends, and colleagues, and communities form around these shared local favorites—many owners don’t even care about their Google reviews because they have their own loyal regulars. The local neighborhoods are truly where the city’s personality shines.
Finally, we always like to ask: what’s a favorite piece of content—anything goes!—you’ve been hooked on lately you think Comm Lead alumni might enjoy?
I’ve recently started watching This Is Us — yes, I’m late to the party Lol! It’s a beautifully written series about family, relationships, and how seemingly ordinary moments can shape our lives in extraordinary ways. It made me reflect on the meaningful connections that define my own journey (and so many of which were built during my CommLead time in Seattle 🫶)
