Cohort 2018, MCCN, Uber
What’s a current professional project you are excited about and why?
I recently joined Uber’s IDEA team, where I’m excited to support our Global Self-Identification Program. Our GSID initiative gathers data on employee demographics to help us build a more diverse and inclusive workplace. This is key to understanding our workforce and making sure everyone feels valued and heard. Our program is built around the idea that “Great minds don’t think alike.” At Uber, we’re all about embracing different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. This not only helps us better serve our diverse users but also drives innovation and helps us achieve our mission of making the world a better place.
What’s an experience from your time at Comm Lead that influences you professionally today?
My time at Comm Lead was filled with classes that challenged my way of thinking. One that really stuck with me was Organizational Development & Change Management. It taught me employee satisfaction affects the whole company’s story. In my old job at T-Mobile and now at Uber, a big part of my job is to tell a compelling story about change, HR policies, diversity, and inclusion. This means designing communication strategies that effectively show how the organization is committed to positive change and progress.
What’s a favorite piece of content—writing, music, film, game, anything!—you’ve been hooked on lately?
I have been really into TikTok lately. I am curious to see how TikTok is going to impact the upcoming presidential election and shape the public opinion of both candidates.
