What’s a current professional project you are excited about and why?
My colleague Lacey J. Faught and I wrote the book: “Down the Rabbit Hole: Slowing the Spread of Misinformation and Propaganda on Social Media” that is a practical and approachable book for anyone using the internet. We have both worked in digital marketing for 15+ years, and we have seen firsthand how the internet is a force for good and a force for bad. We have been working on the book for well over a year and it is finally ready for the rest of the world. I can’t wait.
What’s an experience from your time at Comm Lead that influences you professionally today?
An experience that serves me to this day is Vanessa Au’s analytics class where we learned SWOT analysis, data gathering and analytics. That class is one of those classes where I utilize what I learned every day. Seriously!
What’s a favorite piece of content—writing, music, film, game, anything!—you’ve been hooked on lately?
I have analyzed and read the entire affidavit that the US released on Russian misinformation campaigns. The scope is incredible. As a digital marketing professional, I read all nearly 200 pages *for fun* because I wanted to know the mechanisms and strategies they used. It sounds like the most boring thing to be obsessed with, but it’s the truth!
