Stuart has over 25 years experience as a working design and marketing professional. A native of Los Angeles, CA, his career began as a freelance graphic designer after graduating from art school working for Disney, DirecTV, Mattel, Warner Bros., and many small to mid-size businesses. Some years later, he jumped into the L.A. advertising world at well-known advertising agencies including DDB, BBDO, Dailey Associates, and Bowes-Dentsu, working on Fortune 500 clientele. In 1999, he moved to the Seattle area to work for The Hacker Agency, then the top direct-marketing agency on the West Coast, and managed a team of designers who produced award-winning projects for AT&T, Netflix, Hyatt, Starbucks, and many other household brand names.

His professional skills cross multiple domains combining visual design, psychology, human emotions, and research — becoming a natural springboard into User Experience design. In 2012, Stuart began working in healthcare as a visual designer and learned the art and science of UX and UI design on the job, supplementing it with external classes and constant self-study.

Stuart is currently working on a multi-faceted UX design program for the CDC and brings his expertise to help businesses execute their goals using research, design/lateral thinking, human centered design, user experience design, and product development. He’s thrilled to share his knowledge and mentor students interested in pursuing a career in this field.
