Cheryl Lowry is a content designer and information architect focused on how information is structured, named, and governed so people and AI systems can rely on it. Her teaching at Comm Lead explores how AI is changing the way people communicate and manage information.
Cheryl brings expertise in content systems to the organizations she works with, including Amazon, Meta, Block, and Microsoft. She builds terminology, content standards, and content models that keep information accurate and consistent across products, teams, and tools. Her recent work focuses on AI, content engineering, and career agency in a changing market.
Cheryl speaks and teaches at industry events on AI, communication, and content design. She draws on media theory and an interest in work culture, and she advocates for digital humanism, the idea that technology should be built around human judgment, dignity, and agency.
Cheryl holds a Master of Communication in Digital Media from the University of Washington, a certificate in E-Learning and Instructional Design from UW Professional & Continuing Education, and a BA in Literature from UC Santa Cruz.
