Career Month will bring together a series of career fairs, workshops, and networking opportunities designed to support Communication Leadership students and alumni in their internship and job search.

From hands-on preparation sessions to employer-facing fairs and alumni networking events, Career Month 2026 is designed to help you approach your search strategically, build confidence, and connect directly with hiring teams.

Career Month Schedule & Events

April 1: UW Spring On-Campus Student Jobs Fair

UW Spring On-Campus Student Jobs Fair Banner

Hosted by the UW Career & Internship Center and the HUB, this in-person fair connects students with campus departments hiring for on-campus roles for the upcoming academic year. Employers will share open positions, upcoming hiring needs, and answer questions about working within their units. Bring a resume and be prepared to speak with hiring representatives.

April 3: Career Workshop: How to Prepare for a Career Fair

Career Workshop: How to Prepare for a Career Fair Banner

Career fairs can be valuable opportunities for connections, but they can also feel overwhelming. This interactive workshop covers how to prepare for both in-person and virtual fairs, how to manage conversations with employers, and what steps to take after the event ends. Participants will leave with a clear plan for approaching Fair Day strategically. This workshop is hosted by Comm Lead career consultant Lynn Juve, founder of Bespoke Professional.

April 10: Career Workshop: Mock Interview Prep

This in-person workshop focuses on interview readiness through practice and structured feedback. Students will engage in mock interview scenarios, receive feedback on tone and storytelling, and learn how to avoid rambling or underselling their experience. The session emphasizes clarity, confidence, and preparation over improvisation.This workshop is hosted by our career consultant and Comm Lead alum Samantha Cook, founder of Inside the Cubicle.

April 10: Comm Lead Alumni Network Session

3:00–5:00 pm | Virtual

These structured, one-on-one conversations connect students directly with Comm Lead alumni across industries. Participants can explore career paths, team structures, day-to-day responsibilities, and industry insights in a candid, low-pressure setting. The session is designed as an informational networking experience only; no recruiting or hiring commitments are involved.

Student registrations will open on March 30th.

This focused virtual fair connects and brings together Communication Leadership students and alumni directly with employers seeking talent in communication, marketing, digital media, strategy, and related fields. Structured sessions allow attendees to engage with hiring teams and learn about current internship and full-time openings.
